About This Book

Life-study of Revelation is Witness Lee’s sixty-eight-message exposition of the final book of the New Testament. Its stated governing subject is Christ as the center of God’s administration according to God’s eternal economy. Lee therefore treats Revelation not only as a sequence of future events but as an unveiling of Jesus Christ, God’s governmental throne, the present testimony of the church, the conflict with Satan, the judgment of the world system, the coming kingdom, and the consummation of God’s purpose in the New Jerusalem.

The opening messages establish the revelation and testimony of Jesus Christ, the Triune God, Christ’s coming again, tribulation, the kingdom, and endurance. Revelation 2–3 then receives sustained treatment through the seven churches. Lee develops the golden lampstands as the testimony of the churches and considers the Lord’s speaking to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. These messages connect prophetic interpretation with present church life, love for Christ, resurrection, spiritual condition, overcoming, transformation, and God’s building.

The throne scene, the Lion-Lamb, the scroll, the seals, trumpets, and later bowls are treated as parts of God’s administration and judgment. Lee follows the judgments through the preservation of God’s people, the woes, the final plagues, the great white throne, and the ultimate removal of rebellion. Christ’s second coming is developed throughout this sequence rather than confined to a single passage. The study also considers the rapture of believers, the firstfruits and harvest, the great tribulation, Armageddon, and the millennial kingdom.

Revelation 12–13 becomes a major section on spiritual conflict. Lee treats the universal woman, the man-child, the great red dragon, war in heaven, persecution, the beast from the sea, and the beast from the earth. Antichrist and satanic opposition are therefore substantial subjects, but they remain within the larger conflict between God’s purpose and the rebellious powers that oppose it. The later messages trace religious and material Babylon, the marriage of the Lamb, Christ’s victory, Satan’s final rebellion, and the new heaven and new earth.

The climax is Revelation 21–22. Seven consecutive messages examine the New Jerusalem as a sign rather than merely a material city. Lee presents it as the bride of Christ, the tabernacle and dwelling place of God, and a living composition of God’s redeemed, regenerated, and transformed people. Its gold, pearls, precious stones, wall, foundations, gates, street, temple, light, glory, throne, river, and tree of life are interpreted in relation to God’s building, divine life, transformation, expression, and administration. The Lord God and the Lamb as the city’s temple, and the throne as its center, connect the final vision back to the book’s governing theme of God’s administration.

This exposition therefore answers more than questions about prophetic chronology. It helps readers ask what Revelation reveals about Christ now, what the seven churches say to believers and churches, how God’s throne relates to world events and judgment, what the rapture and great tribulation mean within the book, how spiritual warfare develops behind earthly events, who Antichrist is in Revelation’s vision, and what the New Jerusalem signifies. It also connects future prophecy with present Christian experience by emphasizing overcoming, the Spirit’s work, transformation, church testimony, and participation in God’s building.

For direct searches on Revelation, Revelation 2–3, Revelation 12–13, or Revelation 21–22, the book offers sustained exposition. For thematic searches, its strongest fields include Bible prophecy, Jesus Christ, God’s eternal purpose, divine judgment, the second coming, the New Jerusalem, the church, the kingdom, spiritual warfare, Antichrist, rapture, the Holy Spirit, transformation, Babylon, and the temple of God.
